If you are the only administrator, go to the screen "Languages: Installed (Administrator)" and make "English (United Kingdom)"n as the Default language.

After that whenever you login with the Default Language option, your back-end language would be English.

What Per mentioned is correct if there are multiple admins and they want to administer the site's back-end using the language of their preference/choice.

Note: If you do not want to show the language selection dropdown at all while logging into the back-end, you can do it by using the HTML output override technique.
