I have never heard of this? On a normal server shared or not this is not the case. You have many posts about fundamentally the same problem moving sites from Wamp to live server,it should be seamless!!!The hosting said that everytime I empty the public_html folder, I have to change PHP version because it resets to default 5.6.4.
