Note: this is not extension-specific. This affects the core. I just noticed it with Chronoforms8.
My point is that when the URL (which Joomla supplies in the Uri::getInstance call) is visited, it breaks the web page because it contains &output=component and I wondered is this is the intended behaviour or not.
I have now noticed that $_SERVER["REQUEST_URI"] also contains &output=component
